Every project is totally unique and we believe that it must respond to the homeowner's vision of both themselves and the environment in which they wish to live. Each project begins the same way, whether it is an all new house or an addition/remodel to an existing home, with a no-cost consultation. In this meeting we discuss needs, possible constraints, budget, schedule and we tour the site of the planned project. The first stage for a project will be to obtain detailed drawings of the existing site. For a new home this includes a survey and soils analysis; for a remodel and/or addition this we will measure and photograph the house and prepare "existing condition" drawings that we will use throughout the design process.
The Design Phase occurs in two phases: preliminary design and design development. The preliminary design phase involves the development of multiple alternative solutions which are reviewed with the homeowner. Working together, we analyze and refine the alternatives until we have a solution that best meets the projects needs and budget. The design development phase expands the preliminary plans to fully define the intended project scope. After approval by the homeowner, we enter into the working drawings, or construction documents phase. Construction documents consist of drawings or specifications that describe the quality, configuration, size and relationships of all components to be incorporated into the project. We pride ourselves on our ability to consistently deliver design projects that exceed our client's expectations.
